Credits and your monthly allowance
How the AI Assistant allowance is calculated, when it refills, and what to expect when it runs low.
What credits are
Every AI Assistant generation costs real money to produce — the underlying models charge per request, and a long analysis of a data-rich workout costs more than a short one. Credits are how that cost is measured inside Good Coach App.
Credits exist for fairness, not for profit. Your subscription already includes an allowance sized to what you pay, and the allowance is set so that ordinary coaching use stays comfortably inside it. The point is to keep one account's unusual usage from affecting everyone else's, not to charge you for using a feature you have already paid for.
Your monthly allowance
Your allowance is calculated from your subscription invoice:
20 credits for every €1 of your monthly invoice.
The figure used is the net amount of your invoice — your athlete fee after any discounts have been applied, before VAT. It is the same number regardless of whether you are billed in euro, złoty or dollars: invoices are calculated in euro and converted at payment, so a coach billed in PLN gets exactly the same allowance as one billed in EUR for the same roster.

The floor and the ceiling
Every paying coach gets at least 300 credits, even when 20 × the invoice would come to less. Below roughly a €15 invoice the floor is what applies, which is why the first three rows of the table above are the same number.
Free accounts get 150 credits a month. This is a full working allowance, not a token — it is enough to run a real trial of the AI Assistant, including a period analysis, which is the feature that best shows what it can do.
No account receives more than 15,000 credits a month, whatever the formula produces. If you run a roster large enough to reach that ceiling, talk to us rather than working around it — at that size the right answer is a conversation, not a rule.
When your allowance refills
If you pay for a subscription, your allowance is restored when your subscription payment actually goes through. That is normally your billing date, but it follows the payment rather than the date it was due: if your card is charged on the 18th and the payment does not succeed until the 20th — a card that needs a retry, a bank that asks for confirmation — your credits refill on the 20th.
If you are on a free account, your allowance is restored on the first day of each month.
Unused credits do not carry over
Each refill sets your balance to your allowance for the coming period. It does not add to what is already there.
If you used 40 of 600 credits last month, you start the new month with 600 — not 1,160. The allowance is a monthly budget rather than a savings account, which is what keeps it predictable: your balance at the start of any period is always the same number, and you can plan against it.
What uses credits
AI Assistant generations draw on your allowance — analysing a workout, reviewing a training period, generating plans and training cycles.
How much a single generation costs depends on how much work it takes. A short analysis of a simple session costs a fraction of a full review of a data-rich workout with extended metrics. The most expensive form of an action can cost several times the cheapest, so if you are watching your balance, the shorter form of a feature is genuinely cheaper rather than marginally so.
Everything else in Good Coach App — planning, calendars, templates, integrations, athlete management, analytics — uses no credits at all. The allowance applies only to AI Assistant generations.
If you run out
When your balance reaches zero, new AI Assistant generations are unavailable until your next refill. Nothing else changes: your plans, athletes, history and integrations all continue to work exactly as before, and nothing already generated is affected.
If you find yourself running out regularly, that usually means the AI Assistant has become a genuine part of your workflow rather than something you try occasionally — which is worth telling us about. We would rather adjust the allowance than have you ration a feature you rely on.
Checking your balance
Your current balance and your allowance for the period are both shown in the Invoices section of your profile.
In normal use you should not need to watch it. The allowance is sized so that a coach working through their full roster each week stays inside it, and most coaches will never come close to the limit.
