Ask the AI Assistant
Ask the AI Assistant questions about one of your athletes in your own words — what they said about their knee, how their last threshold sessions compared, when they last ran longer than two hours. It looks the answer up in the athlete's calendar, comments, messages, load and health data, and links every answer to the data it used.
Opening it
Open an athlete's calendar and click Ask AI in the header. On the phone, the Ask AI item is in the calendar's menu. To ask about all your athletes at once, click Ask AI on the Your athletes list (on the phone, in the list's menu).
On a computer, the AI Assistant opens in a window over the page. You can move it by its title bar, resize it from the corner, minimise it to a tab at the edge of the screen, or close it. It stays open while you move around the app, so you can follow a link in an answer and come back to the conversation. Its position and size are remembered.
The window has two tabs: Ask, for questions, and Analyses, with the athlete's period analyses and the button to generate a new one. On the phone the AI Assistant opens as a sheet over the calendar.
Who sees your conversations
A conversation is visible only to the coach who started it. Other coaches in your club don't see it, even when they coach the same athlete, and the athlete never sees it.
Conversations are deleted when the athlete leaves your club, when you leave the club, or when either account is deleted. Under Earlier conversations you can reopen your previous conversations about the athlete. The eight most recent are listed; Show more opens the rest. To delete one, open the ⋮ menu next to it and choose Delete conversation.

What it can read
The AI Assistant reads only what you can see in Good Coach App yourself: the same athletes, calendars, comments and data, with the same club permissions. A coach who sees only their assigned athletes gets answers only about them.
Besides the calendar, comments, messages, load and health data, it reads:
- the athlete's profile: thresholds, zones, training cycles and training breaks, and the Schedule preferences when they are set;
- the Athlete's Info tabs: injuries, goals, records or instructions the coaches wrote there;
- the athlete's devices: what is connected in Integrations, and whether workout completions or health data have stopped arriving;
- your workout templates and weekly templates.
Before it interprets the numbers — cardio load, rTFF, cardio form, readiness, a taper or signs of overreaching — it reads Good Coach App's coaching notes on what each of them can and cannot show.
It doesn't change anything in your calendar. The one exception is AI Assistant memory: it can propose a change to it, and saves it only after you confirm.
Questions about the whole club
From the Your athletes list, the AI Assistant answers questions about your athletes as a group: who needs your attention this week, who has races coming up, whose watch stopped sending workouts. It looks only at the athletes you can see in the club.
It can also tell you what your athletes wrote this week and whether a coach has replied, how much of the planned training each athlete did and which workout plans have no workout completion, and it reads the Coach board, deadlines and athlete billing, as far as your permissions allow.
An answer names the athletes it is about. Click an athlete under the answer to continue in that athlete's own conversation; when the AI Assistant suggests it, a button such as Ask about Ola asks the same question there again. Back to club returns to the club conversation you came from.
To go to one athlete without asking first, use Go to a conversation about an athlete at the bottom of the club conversation: type a few letters of the athlete's surname or first name and pick them from the list.
Club conversations are private to you, like conversations about one athlete, and are listed under Earlier conversations when you open the AI Assistant from the athletes list.
Answers and sources
The answer appears as it is written. Under it are its sources, numbered: click one to open that workout, race, note or comment. What I looked at lists the data the answer was based on. A long list of sources stops after four lines; Show more opens the rest.
When the data doesn't contain the answer, the AI Assistant says so and shows what it checked, rather than guessing. Questions about the athlete's state get the data in context, never a verdict — the decision stays with you.
Credits
Each answer uses a few AI credits from your allowance, usually 1–2. An answer that fails, or a question outside coaching, uses none. The window shows how many credits are left and when they refill. When they run out, you can't ask until they refill, and the window shows the date. Earlier conversations stay open to read.
Talking to a person
Ask the AI Assistant for a person and it points you to the team. You can also:
- write your message in the AI Assistant — it sends it to the Good Coach App team, who reply to your account's email;
- use the chat button at the bottom left of the browser app — support answers within hours;
- write to hello@goodcoach.app.
